KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya drew flak for his or her sexist remarks whereas showing in a chat present.

KL Rahul and Hardik Pandya discovered themselves within the midst of a large controversy when the latter made sexist remarks throughout a chat present which was aired in January 2019. The duo was fined Rs 20 lakh every by the BCCI for the remarks.
Pandya, who made these feedback, later apologised on social media however Rahul remained silent.

Vinod Rai, the pinnacle of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) that ran Indian cricket for practically three years, has stated Rahul and Pandya bought ‘carried away ‘ as they weren’t ‘media savvy’.
“Rahul and Pandya are among the many best we’ve within the crew,” The Indian Express quoted Rai as writing in his book Not Just a Nightwatchman – My Innings in the BCCI. “Not being so media savvy, they seemed to have got carried away and indulged in ‘boy’s dressing room talk’ without being conscious that they were on national television. We all acknowledge that their remarks were reprehensible. They regretted the same and tendered an unconditional apology.”
While the CoA did settle for the remarks as ‘reprehensible’, Rai stated they didn’t need to scar the duo for all times with a strict punishment.
“An off-the-ground misdemeanour of this sort wanted a correction however didn’t require placing their careers in jeopardy. I felt that prolonging their suspension and retaining them away from cricket might probably trigger an irreparable scar on their profession and make issues worse,” Rai wrote.
