Indian batter Mithali Raj on Wednesday introduced retirement from all types of worldwide cricket. “Today is the day I retire from all types of worldwide cricket,” the Indian cricketer mentioned. 

“It was an honour to have led the team for so many years. It definitely shaped me as a person & hopefully helped shape Indian Women’s Cricket as well,” she mentioned in a press release.

Mithali retires because the main run getter in ladies’s ODIs. She represented India 232 matches, scoring 7805 runs at a median of fifty.68.

In the most recent ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings, launched on Tuesday, Mithali continued to carry on to her seventh place.

Meanwhile, Bollywood star Taapsee Pannu has introduced that her upcoming movie “Shabaash Mithu”, a biopic on Mithali Raj, will make its debut in theatres on July 15.

Directed by filmmaker Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven, the movie is a coming-of-age story of girls’s cricket in India as witnessed by essentially the most profitable lady cricketer. It will chronicle the highs and lows, setbacks and moments of euphoria of Raj’s life.

“Shabaash Mithu” marks the primary theatrical launch of Pannu put up her 2020 film “Thappad”.
